Train Firing Case: ‘Hate Speech’ Charge Added Against Accused RPF Constable

In a significant development regarding the recent train shooting incident, Government Railway Police (GRP) officials have confirmed through forensic examination that Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable Chetan Singh, who was arrested for the shooting on July 31, indeed made hate remarks in videos related to the case. As a result of this confirmation, Singh has been charged under Section 153A. The court has extended his custody until August 11.

The incident, which took place on the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express, resulted in the tragic deaths of four individuals, including his senior officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector, as well as three passengers.

Following the shooting, several videos surfaced on social media showing Singh allegedly making objectionable and hateful comments. To establish the authenticity of these videos, the GRP authorities conducted a forensic examination that involved comparing Singh’s voice samples and photographs with those of the individuals depicted in the videos.

GRP investigators also reported their successful efforts in locating the passengers who had recorded the video featuring Singh’s controversial remarks. These individuals captured the video during the incident and played a crucial role in providing evidence for the ongoing investigation.

This development sheds light on the potential motivations behind the tragic shooting and provides further insight into the circumstances surrounding the case. The confirmation of hate remarks in the videos adds a new dimension to the investigation, prompting a legal response through the application of Section 153A.

As the investigation continues, the court’s decision to extend Chetan Singh’s custody until August 11 demonstrates the seriousness with which authorities are handling the case. The incident has sparked discussions around the need for greater accountability and proper measures to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
